Season 2012 comes to an end

 

We have had a great year but none of this would have been possible without the superb efforts of Alan and Chris at the club. Thank you.

         2012 Banger & Stock Car Points Trophies

Great racing all year but if we had to list 3 highlights they would be:

• Max Howard - A star of the future without doubt
• Jamie Clark - Back axle alignment
• Mr Hot Rod - Obviously time to call it a day

Season 2013

Work has started already in preparation for 2013 but the the focus will be on the younger team members with maybe the 'Oldman' doing a few meetings when time allows.

The 2012 Points winning #530 Stock Car has been totally stripped and rebuilt since its win at the last meeting of the year. A new base plate with front suspension has been manufactured and fitted by Eccles Motorsport but apart from that all the original parts have been utilised again. This is now the Team Eccles prototype car.

The #531 Stock Car now has a red wing in readiness for the start of 2013 with Brandon now starting at red grade. We have no immediate plans to run a brushless/lipo combo and will see how things develop over the coming year.

With Alan retiring after being promotor for so many years, 2013 will have its challenges in this period of change for all at URCCC.

October / November Update

The team had great hopes for this period but due to a sudden family loss in October our thoughts have understandably been elsewhere.

• James #532 is starting to get the results he deserves
• Brandon #531 has driven superbly in both Bangers and Stock Cars
• Graham #530 got 3rd place in the Stock Car British Championship

So one more month of season 2012 to go. It has had its ups and downs but overall a good one for the team.

Thoughts will soon turn to 2013.

September Update

After a break from racing in August the team were back racing the first week of September.

James #532 was in racing mode (you shocked us all Crash King) and doing fine but suffered intermittent electrical problems which resulted in early retirement from the final. He will be back!

Brandon #531 & Graham #530 achieved a first. Both won finals at the same meeting.

The team have a busy schedule ahead.

August Update

The team have been very busy away from racing since our last post but we have enjoyed the meetings that we have done. #531 Brandon and #530 Graham both got final wins in July.

#532 James has wrecked yet another car but now has some new 'metal' at his disposal. Can this car last more than one meeting?

The end of the #530 Pac Man Car

The racing since last year has taken it toll on our favourite and in the final today it was destroyed. The #530 Pac Man car is no more but who finished it off?

Brandon #531 won yet another final and the Crash King James #532 lived up to his name in superb style.

Someones going to be busy in the team camp!

Changes made to the #531 car appeared to work as Brandon grabbed a Final win today. Superb result after the problems encountered pre meeting.
